Banana Bread

This Banana Bread was yummy.  I even added some spice (vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg) to the original recipe.

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 1/3 cups mashed overripe bananas

If you want to add the spices take:

1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar. Stir in eggs and mashed bananas until well blended. Stir banana mixture into flour mixture; stir just to moisten. Add the final 3 spices in the batter.  Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.

Bake in preheated oven for 60 to 65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.

ENJOY!!

First Post!

What can I say?? I love to cook. I love to clean.  Call me crazy, but it is a way to relieve stress for me.  My favorite thing to do is cook and I am ALWAYS trying out new recipes. My husband loves it because we rarely have the same thing. Cooking is my passion and I owe it all to the greatest teacher- My Granny. She started me out early. Ever since I could stand on my own two feet she let me in the kitchen to help her while she would cook.  She started out by letting me stir what she was cooking on the stove.  She would put a chair next to the stove and let me help her.  Some of the greatest memories I have of her was cooking with her in the kitchen.  Pappy always loved when I would stay the night because I would get up and cook him breakfast the next morning.  When I took home economics in school I would always come home with a new recipe and we would go directly to the store and make it.  Ahhh....the memories.  I could go on and on about the memories I have.  When she passed away, I made sure to ask my pappy if I could have all her recipes. My Granny was a great cook and so is my mom.  She has also taught me alot about cooking.  I am so blessed to have two wonderful ladies who have taught me so much.

I wanted to start this blog so that I could share some of her recipes and my recipes as well.  I have people all the time asking for my recipes for certain dishes that I make so I thought that this would be a great way to share them.  If anyone out there wants to share their recipes please contact me and I would be glad to post them here as well and of course give you the credit for your recipe. If the recipe is not mine or if I have changed the recipe from it's orginial state I will mention whose recipe it is!  I hope you enjoy this blog as I share some great recipes with you.
